Happy 4th of July!

A Note from the Publisher

Happy 4th of July Midcoast Maine!

Yes, I am a little early this week. Honestly, I am never early to ANYTHING, let alone a few days early! I didn’t want anyone to miss out on any of the great events happening this week so this required a lot of planning and reminders on my phone to ensure I didn’t forget. I am reading a book on ADHD (which is hard at the beach while watching 2 kids in 2 different directions) and it’s helping me to be less scatter brained. At least it’s trying to haha… there are 33 years of bad habits regarding time management, day dreaming, losing things, not having a routine and procrastination that we need to break through!

Last year at this time we were in NH and spending time at Santa’s Village and then exploring Burlington before my sister’s wedding in VT. I admit, it’s a little bit of a let down to not be traveling (my bags are always ready to go on an adventure) for the long weekend. We had such a great time last year!  (A few photos of last year's adventure- FYI Burlington, VT has AMAZING fireworks!!! We said they rival Disney's, aside from no magical castle!)

HOWEVER, as a kid it was a sign of summer when I saw the carnival rides being built while crossing the Bath Bridge. I knew as soon as I saw the ferris wheel going up that it meant summer had officially begun. We didn’t always make it to Heritage Days, but I always got so excited to see it. (I still get excited when I see a carnival just about anywhere haha.) So of course I am excited that my kids are old enough to get excited when they see it, but also that they are just old enough to actually enjoy some of it. And there are 28… yes 28… free concerts happening… at least by my count- I read 30 and counted 28… anyway math isn’t my favorite subject, but I know that’s a lot of great chances to dance the weekend away.

Be sure to check out all the places you can view fireworks HERE and ALL the Heritage Days events !

AND if you haven’t printed off our Summer Bucket List- run and do that- then check off fireworks from your list after you check out one of those displays listed!

Please be safe, have fun and enjoy the nice weather!
