Happy Halloween!

By Whitney Wright- Midcoast, ME Publisher November 1, 2019

Did you all survive yesterday's sugar binge?! We did surprisingly well and didn't indulge too much (well that I could see or hear in the dark car on the way home!) My 3 year old didn't quite get the whole "trick or treating" thing until we started- and then oh my goodness, he was in heaven. He asked if he could, "Put on Scooby and go to houses for candy again tomorrow and the next tomorrow and the next one... everyday!!!!" He was disappointed to learn that he has to wait another year to go again. I would love to see your costumes!

I absolutely LOVE Halloween. Christmas and Halloween are my two favorite holidays. I am having a hard time with the idea of putting away our decorations... even the creepy doll head. I love making costumes, but the kids wanted to be Scooby Doo and it just made sense to buy them, which is hard for me to do, but I was also a little excited to make it easier on myself this year... but I had to at least make one thing... The Mystery Machine! Of course it was last minute and still had wet paint when we loaded it into the car!

We missed all the events in the area last week. My husband was in NC the last 11 days and when I saw that the 3 of us could fly down for less than $195 we had to make a quick trip down to visit friends. It almost felt criminal flying down knowing we only paid $15 for our ticket down. Thanks Frontier! It was a really quick trip, but we got to visit this really great place for kids called 3 Bear Acres, went to a great brewery that had more children running around than adults, had a fun dinner, brunch at one of my absolute favorite places for Chicken 'n' Waffles and met up with friends (who are originally from Maine) at the playground. I always forget how much fun it is to be down there, especially with how warm and beautiful it was out, but it's always nice to come home. While my husband was gone I re-painted my bedroom, moved the TV to a different wall, redecorated the whole room, changed out all the almond outlets in the bedroom for white, installed a new flush mount chandelier in the kitchen, put together a ton of furniture.... it was a super busy week and my husband was so surprised when he came home! And thankfully liked it all... especially since he didn't have to do any work!

Anne B. won the giveaway from Wolfe Neck Farms. Se went me these adorable photos of her kiddos picking their pumpkins. Aren't they the cutest?!

A few weeks ago I thought it was the end of daylight savings time- I was so wrong. It's this weekend and I'm a bit sad about it. We'll probably need this new Natrol Kid's Melatonin to help us transition. If you have any trips to help transition to the time change, please share!

Hopefully everyone gets some rest after all the candy and excitement of Halloween!

Happy Friday!!
