My kids and my husband love to go out to breakfast in Bath (and other towns- see other articles coming soon!) on a weekend morning. I can't say I often say no to breakfast. At home I don't love eating breakfast... but going out to breakfast or brunch? Count me in!
No matter what kind of breakfast you’re in the mood for -- the sweet or the savory -- you can find it in Bath!
Plus … breakfast has bacon... and pancakes!
Don’t even tempt me with Mimosas!
I've rounded up my family's choices for the top five breakfast spots in Bath, ME, along with the reasons why we love them!

What we love: Mae's has always been our go to spot with guests visiting for breakfast or lunch! They have amazing benedicts, imaginative specials and amazing baked goods! The ambiance is wonderful, it's homey and cozy filled with light. The menu has high quality ingredients and things you don't see everywhere. Plus, they have mimosas!
Southgate Restaurant

Hours: Mon-Sat (closed Wednesday) 6 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., Sundays 7 a.m.- 1 p.m.
What we love: After the original location (at the Southgate of BIW) burned they opened a new spot on Centre St. A cheerful place filled with regulars, friendly staff and lots of toys for the kids- plus Mickey Mouse pancakes, affordable prices and delicious, no frills breakfast. The omelettes are huge!
Starlight Cafe

Hours: W-F 7 a.m.- 2 p.m., Sat. & Sun. 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
What we love: We love all the fun, kitchy and vintage decor! It's a small, almost underground seeming little place with lots of delicious items! We love their pancakes, muffins and hash. They have lots of coloring books and other little toys for kids to play with while they wait for their food.
Winnegance Restaurant & Bakery
36 High St, Bath (207) 443-3300
Hours: Mon. & Tues. 6 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wed.- Sat. 6 a.m.- 8 p.m., Sun. 6 a.m.- 4 p.m. (check with them as hours may vary)
What we love: Full transparency here- I haven't actually been to sit down for breakfast here. What I have done is taken home many of their muffins, scones, bars and other baked goods for breakfast. One morning when I was super pregnant and couldn't sleep I took a drive down to Popham to see the sunrise. On my way home they were open and I stopped in and had the most amazing, fresh from the oven, melt in your mouth raspberry white chocolate scone. It was heavenly. We have also grabbed some great sandwiches on the way to the beach!
