TGIF and happy summer vacation (for most of you!)
I’m still not sure it’s safe to officially welcome summer- I had to turn the heat on today to get the chill out of the air haha. Hopefully it won’t have to be turned on again until Fall!
For whatever reason I have packed this week and next week full of stuff (appointments, work, meetings, etc.) just when I was looking forward to not having to set an alarm and to be able to just breath for a hot minute. I guess that will have to wait until the next week! (Which already has a ton of fun things on our calendar for Windjammer’s Festival in Boothbay Harbor.) Honestly, I have a hard time sitting still, so I feel like we are always on the go- even if it’s just going to the beach and sitting in the sand for a few hours! We got our first beach day in at Popham last weekend, it was so nice to sit and feel the sun on our faces… but not so great to dip your toes in the water!
There are lots of fun things happening over the weekend- you can tell everyone is ready for summer with all the outdoor fun happening! And Saturday looks like it is going to be a great day to be outside! Some things to check out:
Free Father's Day Cookout at Ames True Value (you can grab a gift while there ;) )
Story Hour with Author Jess Jacobson
Maine Wildlife Authors at ME Wildlife Park
Of course, we can’t forget that Sunday is Father’s Day. So be sure to give all the dads in your lives a big hug, high five or fist bump and let them know how grateful you are to have them in your corner. I know that my kiddos are so lucky to have a daddy that loves them and cares about them so much. (And we are celebrating our 8th Anniversary on Tuesday!) If you haven’t thought of a gift yet maybe take him out to breakfast! We have two guides with our favorite places in Bath & Brunswick/Topsham that are sure to help him have a great start to his Sunday! Thank you to all the men who have shown their kids or someone else's kids how to be good, decent, loving humans. Thank you for being their to kill spiders, carry us when we are tired, cheer us on and most importantly be there with a big hug when it's needed most.
Fingers crossed for sunny skies, a fair breeze and a great weekend!
Enjoy your weekend everyone- go find your family fun!
